The first article about this was in Psychology Today - “Throw Away Your Vision Board.” After a quarter million hits and much hate mail, I wanted to make sure that I had a thorough LOA understanding so I read every book from the originators of the law in the late 1800s and became a certified “Advanced Practitioner of the Law of Attraction” by one of the authors of "The Secret." I then wrote “Throw Away Your Vision Board 2.” This time the feedback was a little more positive. I recently published the book, Throw Away Your Vision Board: The Truth About the Law of Attraction. This article will summarize 14 reasons why there is no LOA.
If you're ready to meet the love of your life, wear that one thing that makes you feel confident. It can wear a shirt in that special color that makes your feel good, or a symbol that has a special meaning to you. "When you wear those earrings, or shoes, or belt, or scarf, you're telling yourself and the universe you're ready, available and open to meeting your partner," Jess Bubbico, manifesting expert and mentor for Heart Centered Entrepreneurs, tells Bustle. Then, keep your mind open and ready to receive. "Many times, opportunities to meet a good person present themselves, but don't look the way we think they should," she says. "Be present to what you manifested and open to what it will look like when it arrives."

Law Of Attraction Doesn't Work

A psychology professor at Yale recently asked her undergraduate students to complete an "art therapy" exercise. She passed out paper and crayons, and asked them to draw a picture of what they thought their life was going to look like. Upon receiving the assignments, she was shocked to see most of the pictures were images of hopelessness -- dark colors, falling off of a cliff, hitting a brick wall, or being generally unfulfilled. If our "best and our brightest" are afraid to dream in their early twenties, something must be done.
LOA is one of those things that just baffles me as to why people buy into it. It literally amounts to nothing more substantial than, "Close your eyes, cross your fingers, and wish on a star, then alllllll your dreams will come truuuuuue!" It survives on the average person's ignorance of advanced science and their tendency to assume that someone using big words and "sciencey-sounding" concepts must know what they're talking about.
Schedule some quiet time for some deep contemplation of what you desire to create in your life. What are your goals, hopes and wishes? Sit down with a pen and paper. Get clear, crystal clear. Define what you do want. Describe it, draw it, and define it. Define it in terms of the positive attributes. Define the attributes and characteristics of your dream. Take care not to use anything as a descriptor that is actually a statement about what your dream is not. Define what it is. Know exactly what it is you want.
Lucky people don’t do the ego dance, which is when we go out into public or we’re around somebody new and low self-worth leads us to question: “Who should I be? Will they love me? What do I say for them to love?” Magnetic people don’t do that. They share a dissociation from that ego dance and they’re just presently, authentically, vulnerably themselves.
Everything is energy. And when it comes to manifesting your desires, it’s important to remember that your reality is being sculpted on a moment by moment basis by your predominant energy and vibration. You can meditate, declutter your home, make sweet love, sing, pray, cook or laugh until you nearly want to pee your pants – these are all excellent ways to amp up your frequency so the Universe can deliver your goodies.
