Sometimes your subconscious thoughts and beliefs affect the outcome of your efforts to manifest your desires. If, for example, you want more money but you believe that money is the root of all evil, you’ll find it hard to manifesting more money. If you want a new job but think, “I don’t deserve a better job,'” you’ll have a difficult time getting hired. And if you look at a loving couple and think, “I still don’t have a loving relationship,” you’ll perpetuate the lack of a mate. You need to become aware of and change these negative thoughts and beliefs if you want to bring your dreams into reality.
It’s time to stop looking in the rearview mirror and finally let go of the past. It’s over. You are now in the process of creating beautiful and empowering new experiences in your life. A dear friend of mine has been working very actively on manifesting her dreams. She has been creating bucket lists and vision boards for what she wants in her life. Some are small, like buying a kayak, and others are grander for family, marriage and community. She even wrote a check to herself, from "The Universe" for an outlandish amount she never thought she deserved.

Visualize it in the most bright, colorful, exciting, and joy-filled way—as if it’s already happened—and notice how happy you are, see who else is present there with you, take in any important sounds, feel the positive emotions running through you, and steep yourself in gratitude for all the gifts this life has bestowed upon you.
Which brought me to this basic statement of the fundamental Abraham teaching. And what a fine, excellent book it is. It explains so many things, why things are the way they are, why we keep trying to change things, but keep winding up with the same disappointing, unwanted results, and how to change the way we tell the Universe what it is we truly want.

But the one who really first articulated the Law as general principle was Prentice Mulford. Mulford, a pivotal figure in the development of New Thought thinking, discusses the Law of Attraction at length in, for example, his essay "The Law of Success", published 1886-1887. In this, Mulford was followed by other New Thought authors, such as Henry Wood (starting with his God’s Image in Man, 1892), and Ralph Waldo Trine (starting with his first book, What All the World's A-Seeking, 1896). For these authors, the Law of Attraction is concerned not only about health but every aspect of life.
I worked with a professional footballer once. He was getting very nervous about shooting goals. He kept missing even though he was very talented. I insisted that he kept watching himself on TV scoring goals and burned that image into his consciousness. I didn’t want him thinking about anything else. Every time he had a negative thought he was to switch that picture, either on the TV or on the TV in his mind. And he was to surround the thought with positive emotions of love and respect for himself.
